Om værket
A seated figure rests at the centre of a lotus built from wide bands of coral, teal and deep navy that fold around them like water caught mid-turn.
This is the loud one in a quiet collection, and that is on purpose. A meditation wall does not have to be beige. Some people settle faster in front of colour than in front of emptiness, and there is nothing less serious about that.
The bands were kept broad and simple rather than detailed. Read from across a room they become a flower; read from close they become pure movement. Both readings are correct, and the piece is built to hold them at the same time.
