Om værket
Half a face dissolves into circuitry, copper traces and glowing amber nodes against a deep blue ground, the human side and the built side meeting on a line down the middle of the head.
The division sits exactly on the centre line, and that is the argument. Put the seam anywhere else and one side wins; put it in the middle and the picture refuses to say which half is the real one.
Amber against deep blue does the rest. They sit opposite each other, so the circuitry reads as lit from within rather than painted on, and the piece keeps its punch on a dark wall behind a desk, which is where it is going to end up.
